Our Approach
Addressing the human side of climate change
Climate change is a global phenomenon. Regardless of the country or household where greenhouse gases are emitted, they are eventually evenly dispersed throughout the atmosphere and the world carries the burden. Likewise, solutions to climate change and the benefits of reducing greenhouse gas emissions are collectively shared by all living things; humans, animals, habitats and our future generations.
Given the financial stresses of low-income groups, climate change will have a greater impact on the livelihood of the poor. With rising temperatures, human lives—particularly in low-income, senior, and minority communities—are affected by compromised health, financial burdens, and social and cultural disruptions.
Connecting people with people to provide solutions
We have created a unique person-to-person effort to find solutions to climate change while simultaneously benefiting those people that will be most affected. The People’s Climate Project puts people to work providing sustainable, on-the-ground energy efficiency and weatherization projects as well as energy education where it matters most. It also provides opportunities for everyday people, like you, to take meaningful action supporting real, sustainable projects that result in a lower global carbon footprint. Find out more about how it works.
